Rock Climbing Pakistan

Rock climbing is physical and psychological negotiation with rocks. The objective is either to reach the summit or climbing a logical line.  Rock climbers climb up, climb down and traverse on rock formations.

“Rock climbing” has very long history because it includes basic human moves. “Rock climbing” has been documented even in 200BC in shape of paintings in China. Therefore, it can be assumed that rock climbing is almost as old as human civilization.

Pakistan has three mighty mountain ranges of the world including Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindukush. Best rock climbing playgrounds are situated in Nangma Valley, Kharidas Valley, Kondus Valley, Hunza, Nagar, Passu, Concordia, Swat, Chitral and several other areas of Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

Although, several climbing crags and lines have been explored but still  lot of potential to find virgin lines available in Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtoon Khua and Kashmir. Like Kondus Valley, more than 90 % rocks are unexplored.
